  • Start using things up that you can't move, like cleaning supplies and frozen food.
  • Discuss tax-related moving expenses, liabilities, and deductions with your tax advisor.
  • Make a list of all people/organizations to contact about change of address.

Four Weeks Before Move:

  • Get an itemized list of all moving related costs and review with mover, including packing, loading, special charges, insurance, vehicles (if needed), etc.
  • Contact all current and new location utility companies (gas, water, electric, cable TV, phone & trash collection) to set connect/disconnect dates. Remember to keep current utilities hooked up until move day.
  • Make arrangements for relocation of pets and plants.
  • Move valuables to safe deposit box to prevent loss during move.
  • If you are packing yourself, acquire packing materials/boxes and pack items you won't need for the next month.
  • If professional mover is packing your goods, schedule packing day(s) 1 or 2 days before move.
  • Prepare any mowers, snow blowers, boats, snowmobiles (or other vehicles you won't be using before the move) for the move by servicing and draining gas and oil, to prevent a moving van fire.
  • Repair, send out for re-upholstery, or clean furniture, drapes, carpeting as needed.

What my clients are saying

I do not do reviews but for this occasion, I feel one is due simply because Kim actually took the time to respond to my inquiry about a few properties and Kim took me and the MONEY BOSS around and we settled on one that we loved and Kim helped ensure we had the proper game plan in place to get our offer accepted. Kim is very smart when it comes to all details of the art of closing and as one who played sports, she seems like the coach who can take the 3rd stinger and make them a winner because her skills and knowledge helped keep us from making any mistakes and feel good especially in this crazy market right now. Kim was always accommodating, available, and professional. The MONEY BOSS and I got the house we wanted and can not be happier as we move forward in our new home chillin in our hot tub sipping strawberry lemonade. I would be happy to recommend her to anyone looking to come out on top. A HEARTFELT Thank You Kim Sincerely Shawn 1st Time Home Buyer

~ Shawn Smith

Kim is the only realtor we will use. She is the best! We just sold the house she helped us purchase years ago. She is very accessible, experienced and held our hands through the entire process of selling and purchasing. We had a great experience with her and would definitely recommend her.

~ Matt and Sara Hess

We are so glad that we met Kim, because she found us our dream home!!! We felt immediately reassured that Kim would do whatever it took to get us into the house we wanted for our family. Any questions we had she immediately answered and she was always professional! Looking for a home can be tiresome and you can lose faith after awhile. But Kim never lost faith and she never pushed us, and that’s what made her the perfect Realtor!

~ Ray and Kendra Padilla

This is my second time buying a house and this time it was way different. Thanks to Kim. This time I knew what I wanted and knew that I needed someone to work for my best interest. That's where Kim comes in. When I started house hunting I had another agent, she was late at appointments, didn’t provide me with enough houses to view and all were not close to want I wanted. I told Kim from day one that time was very important to me. Kim put her head down and went to work for me. After 2 visits I was able to pick my house and made an offer. She guided me through out the process negotiated for me. She is knowledgeable of what to do and how to get yo I’m u the best deal. She made things more easy for me , and especially because I am not available all the time. She responded to my email and text messages in timely manner. Updated me throughout and provided advices when i needed them. Omg Kim did what an agent need to do . For me and my friends Kim will be our agent.

~ Peter Mukendi

Kim was professional and friendly as we set out to sell my home... she made herself available whenever I had a question or concern and always had an answer

~ Denise Reid

Kim is professional, knowledgeable and a great person to work with. Kim found our new home quickly and worked endlessly to ensure the transaction which went as smooth as possible. I would highly recommend her. Thank you Kim!

~ Fraser and Patricia Tennant

I fired 4 "Realtors", they were lazy, would not answer or return our calls promptly, you know like a professional would. We are busy professionals ourself and needed our time respected. Then we stumbled upon Kim, what a refreshing breath of air. Honest, courteous, diligent and hard working, the consummate professional. We love our house, thank you Kim.

~ William and Misty Guerra

This is one of several homes that Kim Cervantes has assisted us in selling and/or purchasing. This sale could have been particularly difficult considering the home was placed on the market just about the time that the Corona Virus hit. Kim was unwavering in her confidence that a buyer would be located and the sale completed in spite of overlying health concerns. She carefully evaluated the market, suggested a fair price and sold the home two days after it was listed. Escrow closed in a little over two weeks, and now Kim is looking for a home for us to purchase. I might add that this was an investment property sold as a 1031 exchange, which Kim handled professionally, without missing a beat. If you are looking for an agent who has her finger on the pulse of the market and the knowledge to complete your sale quickly and to everyone’s satisfaction, give her a call.

~ David and Cynthia Schneider

Kim was awesome, always quick to respond to calls and texts. Very friendly and professional. I would highly recommend her and wouldn’t hesitate to use her again

~ Simon Wilson

Kim is a very professional and knowledgeable person whom you trust and reliable to sell or buy a property! She knows what she’s doing, and getting a job done as perfect as you wish for! She will be my future real estate agent forever!

~ Howard Zhang

Having worked with Kim for quite some time, I am completely confident in this review. She is everything you will need for a very successful, streamlined transaction. Her diligence, persistence and communication are exemplary, and you can count on her. You owe it to yourself to give her a call before you do anything else. Thank you so much, Kim! I wish there were more places to give you 5 more stars!

~ Marty Striano

Kim is a pro all the way through the home buying process! I learned quickly that I could count on her and she helped me understand things immediately when I would occasionally flounder. Buying a home can be stressful at times but she made everything easy and comfortable. Very responsive, always available and I enjoyed every time I saw her! Highly recommend this wonderful realtor! Hope you find your dream home like I did!!!

~ Mary Valance

We recently used Kim as our listing agent to sell our home. We were so impressed with her professionalism, negotiation skills and her prompt responses to our questions and concerns. We never felt in the dark about anything and she was on TOP OF EVERYTHING from start to finish. We've decided to only use Kim from now on for our real estate needs. Thank you so much Kim, we were so happy with your service! :)

~ Jackie and Carissa Legg

Kim Cervantes was our Purplebricks Agent. She is amazing, exceptional, smart, knowledgeable. She communicated with us and explained anything we didn't understand. She marketed our house diligently as any Realtor getting a large commission. Her team is just as great as she is. We absolutely have everything good to say about Kim, her Team, and Purplebricks. I highly, highly recommend Kim and Purplebricks.

~ Steve and Machele Lupton

Start to finish, Kim led us through the home buying process and we got a great deal on a home we love. She also helped us to quickly find a very qualified tenant for a different property. Kim is an excellent agent and we highly recommend her!

~ Ralph and Georgia Bevente

We had a great experience with Kim and we sold our home the first day! Thank you Kim and Purple Bricks! We received several full price offers the first day and Kim she does an outstanding job!

~ Karen Macall

Kim was excellent! On top of everything! Great negotiator! We had a wonderful experience & would recommend her to everyone. Purple Bricks has a bad reputation only perpetuated by Real Estate Agents & Brokers. Our personal experience was fantastic. Evert aspect was handled with complete professionalism and we could not be happier with the outcome from start to finish

~ Don and Rama Hodges

We would happily refer Kim Cervantes to anyone looking to buy or sell a home! We had such a great experience!! When looking to sell our house, we were quite nervous as it was our first time selling. We decided to go with Purple Bricks as my aunt had recently had a great experience. Kim exceeded our expectations, guiding us through each step. We had a TON of questions almost daily, which she happily responded to almost instantly. Kim made us feel at ease and gave us advice when we needed it. We will no doubt be reaching out to Kim again when looking to buy and or sell our next home!

~ Cara Goset

Kim was a great asset in the sale of my property in San Diego County. She worked very hard, followed through, and quickly responded to communications and requests with respect to the sale. In addition, she managed all issues in a very professional, positive, and diligent manner. It was a pleasure working with Kim and I will highly recommend and use her again in any future property transactions.

THE RIGHT AGENT MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE We just closed escrow on a very complicated deal. We sold a home in a 1031 Exchange. That places timelines on everyone relative to identifying and closing escrow on a new investment property! Our Purple Bricks agent, Kimberly Cervante’s knowledge of the greater Temecula market, her negotiating skills and her ability to coordinate agents, escrow processing and the added 1031 Exchange portion of the deal, made all the difference. We closed escrow in one week, met the stipulations of the 1031 Exchange and are now the owners of the perfect investment property in Temecula. Whether you are looking for your own home or negotiating to purchase investment property, Kimberly Cervantes is a great person to have on your team. Thank You Kim early! We couldn’t be more pleased!

~ Cynthia Schneider

Kim was absolutely outstanding! she is a true professional who takes pride in her job. She made selling my house a seamless process. She was attentive and quick to response to all my questions, concerns and needs. I would absolutely recommend her to all my family and friends.

~ Benny Benton

Kim was awesome! She was with me when I found the house of my dreams! When I told her I had to have the house she went home on a Sunday and wrote up the offer. I was the first to get my offer in out of 4 other offers and they accepted mine! Kim was efficient and reassuring during escrow.. I LOVE my new home!! Thanks Kim!

~ Shelly Brousseau

This is the 2nd time that Kim has found me and my family a beautiful home. On our first purchase which was an F.H.A. loan she walked us through everything and was available every time we had any questions. She went above and beyond to help especially since this was the first time going through this process. On our second purchase things were a little bit different due to the fact that we had to sell our current home in order to purchase a new home. With all the hiccups and few setbacks Kim was amazing and as always was available any time we needed her. Kim is very professional and her expertise is second to none!

~ Matt Pacheco

I highly recommend Kim. As a first time home buyers we were very nervous with the house buying process. Kim did an excellent job in helping to find the perfect home. Throughout the entire process she was very helpful and professional.
